Global recruitment specialist Hays has released its quarterly report into recruitment trends for the April – June 2012 quarter.

Recruiters are in strong demand in the mining sector and associated industries. Employers are up-skilling their employees so Learning and Development and Training specialists are sought.

"Adding to this vacancy activity will be restructures within departments. Employers are also expected to reassess their needs. We expect most activity to be at the mid level for advisors. We will also see temporary and short-term contract vacancies as employers cover workloads while a permanent candidate is recruited," the report found

"In the public sector, ongoing headcount pressure means that contractors will be preferred for project driven roles or unexpected workload increases. But as we approach the end of the financial year, we expect to see an increase in public sector recruitment and an increase in project work as departments utilise outstanding budgets."

SA’s public sector is looking for contractors for Learning & Development projects and Change Management candidates following a portfolio restructure of Government Departments.
