This is a unique opportunity to take the lead on managing the Operational Officer Program through talent placements, career advice and induction support directly related to supporting operational activity in protecting NSW communities.

The People & Business Coordinator works closely with Operational Officer new and ongoing candidates to facilitate placements within the OpO Program as well as providing career progression advice and support throughout the Induction Program at the NSW RFS Training Academy. The OpO Program assists with building skills base through enhanced training, experience in multiple category areas and development opportunities to assist OpO staff with progression through the levels of employment within the OpO Program.

The People & Business Coordinator also supports various human resource activities within Mitigation, Districts and Area Command teams, projects, business planning and management activities across Area Operations to ensure effective delivery of the business needs.

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing rural and remote placements within a state-wide rotational employment program.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting human resource functions and projects from planning through to completion and  delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating and advising on key project initiatives with key stakeholders
  • An appreciation of a volunteer organisation
  • The ability to travel
