The People and Culture Manager is a critical role within the business. As the leader for our HR, Injury Management/Return to Work and Training teams, you are accountable for delivering a quality service across our hire to retire process and ensuring our Bindaree values and culture is seen, felt and heard. Reporting to the Group Head of People and Culture you will also be expected to contribute to continuous improvement activities across the broader business. 

In this hands-on role your key focus areas will include: 

  • Building and developing a high performing People & Culture team
  • Day to day business partnering with the site General Manager and operational leaders to support their people needs and uplift their leadership capability 
  • Owning site workforce planning, including detailed reporting on labour movements and training of skilled workers
  • Partnering with site leaders to understand and deliver appropriate manning levels
  • Maintaining positive industrial relations for the site
  • Working with the Employer Branding Specialist to promote the Bindaree Employer Value Proposition (EVP) at key community events
  • Supporting the Training Improvement Lead to ensure operational training is delivered effectively and workers are appropriately trained and inducted for their roles
  • Ensuring workers compensation, return to work and injury management programs are compliant, efficient and optimised
  • Deeply understanding drivers for absenteeism and turnover and creation of strategies to improve workforce availability and retention

  • You have relevant experience in HR, Training or similar field, ideally gained within manufacturing / blue collar environment
  • You have a strong knowledge of Australian workplace law including enterprise agreements
  • You know how to get the best out of people and have lead a high performing team

  • You are a skilled communicator who can engage and influence others
  • You have experience in a role requiring high level stakeholder engagement, and you are a natural rapport builder with all levels of a business
