About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Operations & Development Manager, the Safety Health & Environment Manager will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing and managing Krispy Kreme's Work Health & Safety (WHS) Program. More specifically, you will:

  • Work closely with SMEs across Australia and New Zealand to create and develop a WHS program, which can be easily implemented and maintained across our Retail and Manufacturing environments, while ensuring policy and process standards exceed relevant legislative requirements
  • Work cross-functionally with a broad range of internal stakeholders to ensure strong engagement and knowledge of the WHS program
  • Champion our safety and quality initiatives alongside our Quality Assurance Manager so as to continually improve the environment for our Krispy Kremers and customers!

Every day at Krispy Kreme presents different challenges and while you will need to be flexible and adaptable to meet them all, there are some tasks that will form the backbone of your work in this role:

  • Develop and maintain an effective WHS Program
  • Conduct and follow-through investigations and root cause analysis for Injuries, Near Misses and Hazards, and promptly close out
  • Chair WHS committee meetings to ensure they are effective in driving a safety culture and reducing risk across our Shops & Factories
  • Monitor and review updates to standards, codes of practice, WHS Act and WHS regulations to ensure Shops & Factories are compliant
  • Create and maintain (in conjunction with SMEs) an annual Risk Assessment program for all Shops & Factories operating, processing and equipment
  • Review and action company WHS systems, policy and process improvement based on Krispy Kreme risk profile and in line with the legislative framework
  • Create and present Toolbox meetings to drive employee discussion and engagement
  • Deliver WHS performance reporting monthly in both a timely and accurate manner
  • Drive the WHS culture within Krispy Kreme Australia and New Zealand
  • Develop and mentor a small group of SMEs to maximise performance
  • Actively participate in projects as required and support cross-functional activities as they arise

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in designing, developing, and implementing Safety, Health and Environment Management Systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing hazards ideally within a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation and injury case closure
  • Extensive working knowledge and experience in Work Health and Safety legislation, State Regulatory guidelines and codes of practice
  • Experience leading and mentoring a small team
  • Tertiary or equivalent formal qualification in WHS (minimum cert IV in WHS)
  • Other training such as: Internal Auditing, Formal HACCP Training, HR qualifications
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office (word/power/excel)
