This role leads Talent and Culture for Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Convention Centre, a landmark coastal resort with 370+ rooms and a 1500 pax convention centre, providing the region with a modern facility within the Australian and International events and meetings market. Opportunity to work with a Portfolio Hub team across 4 impressive Accor hotels and with a highly motivated and engaged team.

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Talent and Culture Manager to partner with senior leaders to shape culture and performance, while advising and coaching on best practice aligned to business needs. We are seeking a dynamic leader, a true people person, with great communication skills and a passion for driving excellence. Key to your success will be your extensive experience working as a hands-on Talent and Culture Manager in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ability to influence, and a commitment to delivering improvement initiatives will see you make an impact and enhance the capability of the team.

About the role

The Talent & Culture Manager will provide guidance and oversight in aspects of recruitment, training, development and employee relations activities, ensuring they meet the needs of the business with a commitment to engagement. Providing onsite Talent and Culture presence, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Advise leaders on employee relations, policies, and recruitment.
  • Lead annual and cyclical people activities including salary review, performance reviews, talent and succession planning and employee engagement.
  • Implement solutions that enhance the employee experience 
  • Use data to inform decision-making and to influence outcomes with senior leaders.
  • Develop, review, and monitor Talent and Culture procedures and policies
  • Supporting Portfolio Talent and Culture initiatives and assisting the team to drive and communicate these programs. 
  • Foster an inclusive work environment aligned with organisational values.

About you

The Talent and Culture Manager will be responsible for working in partnership with leaders, advising and coaching on best practice aligned to business needs. It is a true hands-on generalist role where you will have the opportunity to deliver impactful work and drive innovation through continuous improvement initiatives.

We are seeking an energetic and experienced leader with creative ideas, a people focused person with excellent communication skills. You will have a passion for driving excellence, including delivering process improvement initiatives. Your strong commercial acumen will align people practices to the overall business objectives.

  • Excellent relationship building skills, be able to work with a diverse team and work collaboratively to find outcomes. 
  • High levels of organisation and be able to manage deadlines and deliver on projects. 
  • Understanding of the Australian industrial relations framework, and experience with award interpretation 
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in speaking with people across all levels of the business.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or similar is highly regarded.
  • Prior Talent and Culture experience in a similar business environment is also highly regarded.
