About Multicultural Australia

Multicultural Australia emerged from a community-based social movement to advance multiculturalism and build communities where everyone belongs. Since 1998, we have welcomed tens of thousands of individuals from refugee, asylum seeker, international student, and migrant backgrounds – with the goal of creating a more equitable and prosperous society.

Today, we are a multicultural for-purpose organisation and settlement provider with a strong and connected physical presence across metropolitan and regional Queensland. Our clients and community are at the heart of everything we do, and we are passionate about providing care and services in person-centred and compassionate ways.

We work with individuals, communities, businesses and government to help build a more welcoming Queensland through advocacy, cultural training, community events, employment, youth programs, sports, and arts inclusion programs to advance a diverse, inclusive and multicultural community.

About the role:

Multicultural Australia is currently seeking a Director, People to join our Senior Leadership Team in a full-time, ongoing role, based in Brisbane.

The Director, People, supported by the broader People, Culture and Safety team, will play a pivotal role in maturing the delivery of HR services and advice to the organisation, partnering with leaders at all levels to promote a positive, engaged, and inclusive work environment.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, the Director will lead a contemporary, fit-for-purpose approach to the design and delivery of a range of HR functions including recruitment, induction and onboarding, talent and performance management, industrial and employment relations, leadership development and HR data and analytics.

About you:

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong HR business partnering experience at a senior/strategic level, excellent leadership and communication skills and a depth of knowledge and experience in leading industrial and employment relations and workplace health and safety.

You will have the ability to build and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Executive team, leaders and employees at all levels, trade unions and strategic partners. You will be passionate about the delivery of operational excellence in HR services, systems and advice, through both your own hands-on contribution and through leading and motivating the collective contributions of the PC&S team.
