Team Leader Health and Wellbeing

With a strong focus on employee wellbeing, safety and health, and as a self-insured organisation, Queensldand Rail’s Employee Wellbeing team has a significant responsibility to ensure that workers are supported with robust and meaningful rehabilitation programs, workers compensation and common law claims are determined in accordance with relevant legislation and that our employees are compliant with the NHS Standard for the rail industry. About this Role

Leading the wellbeing, health and workers compensation services and initiatives, the role of Team Leader Health and Wellbeing plays an integral role within our People and Culture function. Typically, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of professionals in line with the employee Wellbeing program of work including overseeing all aspects of workers' compensation, rehabilitation, health compliance and health promotion initiatives which all contribute to supporting the health and wellbeing of our workforce.  

You can anticipate some of your responsibilities to include:

  • Reviewing, developing and implementing metrics and reporting systems to measure the performance of the Employee Wellbeing team, identifying areas for improvement and risks of non-compliance against relevant legislation.
  • Leading the application of and adherence to the National Health Standards and Workers Compensation legislation, through sound risk management and change management principles.
  • Leading the application and adherence to the ongoing requirements of the self-insurer licence for Queensland Rail workers compensation and ensuring the licence is maintained together with monitoring and responding to our performance as a self-insurer.
  • Leading a team of professionals with a strong focus on customer, service delivery and efficiency ensuring internal and external customer needs are met as measured through developed KPIs.
  • Drive a workplace culture where the health and wellbeing of employees is valued and prioritised through the development and implementation of health promotion and wellbeing initiatives.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary health practices and associated legislation and National Health Standards relevant to workers compensation (preferably in a self-insured environment), rehabilitation case management, injury management, and health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • High level of skill in leading a team of professionals to resolve complex claims and cases related to health in a practical way

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar role, ideally within a large organisation.  Interpersonally, you will have a natural relationship-building ability, strong communication skills and be accustomed to dealing at all levels of the business.

Starting Salary $116,049.00 plus superannuation
