Business Intelligence Officer

 

As the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake and landslide emergency, we take the lead in the preparation and response for those hazards. Under the coordination of Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), VICSES works within the broader emergency management sector, wherein all agencies and services work as one to ensure the safety of the state. As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB), Parks Victoria and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) during major bushfire and emergency incidents. We also work closely with key partners and municipal councils throughout Victoria to develop and improve their emergency management plans in relation to the performance and exercise of their duties and responsibilities under the Emergency Management Acts 1986 and 2013. VICSES is committed to being a child safe organisation.

This position is a backfill for maternity leave. As the Business Intelligence Officer you will be working in a small close knit team that acts as a key human resources information source for internal stakeholders. Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Contribute to BAU reporting and managing access privileges using standard tools
  • Perform complex data analysis, research and investigations using sound research methods and appropriate statistical tools, for Ad hoc requests
  • Work on the continual improvement of this organisations key dataset from both internal data sources
  • Prepare and present quality reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence, and maintain quality documentation following agreed standards
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop KPI measures
  • Provide advice and recommendations to management and stakeholders on data and reporting issues
  • Project manage small projects or aspects of larger projects as required
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively and manage time pressure for sustained periods to meet deadlines
