Quality Assurance Officer

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join Huon’s Paramatta Creek Processing facility!

The role

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, this role is part of the broader Quality Assurance team and is integral in ensuring that our Parramatta Creek site meets Huon’s food safety standards and objectives. You will:

  • Be accountable for daily onsite quality control, documentation and processes, including document control of completed records, collation and filing.
  • Have hands on involvement with Production staff to ensure food safety standard compliance.
  • Implement and manage changes to our food safety practices, analysing and recommending improvements as you see fit.
  • Investigate and report on all site-based non-conformances raised and conduct subsequent training with Production staff.
  • Monitor raw materials, packaging and finished product quality, reporting non-conformance, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Sample raw materials, finished products and swab equipment for micro analysis.
  • Conduct internal calibration of monitoring equipment and undertake internal audits, participating in third party accreditation audits when required.
  • Deliver staff training relating to food safety and quality processing.
  • Participate in HACCP reviews and implementation of changes to the program.

This is a fulltime role, operating Monday to Friday at our Paramatta Creek Processing facility. Depending on operational demand you may be required to work a public holiday or a weekend on an ad-hoc basis.

About you

  • Experience as part of a Quality Assurance team will be beneficial.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural workplace including managing cultural differences and language barriers.
  • Patience, understanding, diplomacy and a willingness to learn come naturally to you.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to adapt, deal with uncertainty, and remain calm in a changing environment.
  • Self-motivated individual with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
