Workplace Relations Specialist

As a degree qualified Workplace Relations Specialist, you will have the opportunity to support and advise the People & Culture Business Partners/Managers as well as our operational leaders, to ensure compliance and consistency; and mitigate risk for the business.

This position is permanent full-time, working Monday to Friday and may be based in Margate in Tasmania, Lidcombe in Sydney or Proserpine in Central Queensland (Whitsundays).

Reporting to the National IR Manager, you will have accountability across a variety of tasks including leading EA negotiations; providing advice and interpretation on legislation and industrial instruments, supporting stakeholders with performance management and disciplinary procedures; conducting workplace investigations; driving the workplace relations strategy across whole of business; coach and develop the P&C team in changes to legislation; and improve existing systems and processes for delivery of best practice workplace relations. This is by no means everything, but we can guarantee you’ll be working on something different every day.

What you’ll need:

  • A degree in a related discipline (IR/Psychology/Law) plus at least 5 years’ experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills (with ability to be able to converse with people from all backgrounds)
  • A pragmatic approach to the management of Employment Relations matters
  • Experience with EA negotiations in unionised environments
  • Ability to be able to travel to locations when required
