About the role:

The primary purpose of this role is to proactively support our injured team members to facilitate a safe, timely and durable return to work outcomes whilst managing NSW and ACT Workers Compensation cases in compliance with local legislation and frameworks. You will  assist in the development and implementation of proactive injury prevention & worker’s compensation strategies supportive of the Metcash corporate purpose & values.

What you’ll do:

• Proactively manage the return to work of our injured team members and assist in the completion of return to work plans as required
• Receive, register & maintain all worker’s compensation related claims paperwork as required
• Manage all Injury Management documentation in line with regulator requirements
• Participate in development and implementation of National strategic projects as required
• Provide support and assistance to all NSW & ACT Metcash sites for all injury and workers compensation claims matters
• Implement  consistent injury and claims management processes to effectively manage early intervention and minimize claims costs
• Analyse claims/rehabilitation cost trends and develop intervention strategies
• Provide information including legislative requirements to business leaders to enable them to effectively manage Workers Compensation claims
• Develop, assist and provide managers with information & regular training in relation to Injury Management

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in injury management or return to work positions
• RTW Coordinator Accreditation Essential
• Allied Health Qualification (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Exercise Physiology) essential
• Knowledge of key rehabilitation and return to work aspects of the relevant Workers Compensation legislation
• Proven experience in coaching and training on return to work and rehabilitation programs
• Proven experience in managing complex and serious injury claims
• Proven experience in proactive risk management and injury prevention strategies
• Complete understanding of physical and psychological impacts post injury and current treatment options to drive timely, safe and durable outcomes
• Knowledge of employer and community based programs for disability support
• Sound understanding of state specific injury management legislation and compliance frameworks
• Relevant experience and qualifications including rehabilitation and return to work coordinator certification
