At Tennis Australia (TA) we are passionate about what we do and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow our game! To do this, we’re looking for a Safety Officer to help us expand the capability of our team!
 
Reporting to the Manager, Safety & Risk, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and development of the safety management systems for both Tennis Australia, Member Associations and Tennis Australia Events.
 
As the Safety Officer, you will support our team in the following areas:

  • Demonstrate how health and safety is effectively managed, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Ensure staff have received information, instruction and training on the safety management system and competently understand their responsibilities. 
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments and Incident Investigations as required.
  • Conduct safety assessments in consultation with staff, including the development of Safe Work Method Statements / Work Instructions.
  • Assist in the development of Executive and project group reports.

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Victoria)
  • Sound knowledge and understanding in the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to implement OHS Management Systems which aligns with ISO 45001
  • Ability to be able to identify safety issues and prepare a comprehensive plan to mitigate the associated risk
  • Cert IV or higher Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
  • Place of Public Entertainment Safety Officer Qualification - 22310VIC (desirable)
  • You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
