Audience Engagement champions the emotional and social relationship between audiences and museums to sustain their future.

The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Youth and Families Coordinator to join the Audience Engagement and Learning department, which leads the planning of dynamic Gallery experiences that put the needs and interests of audiences first.

This role will contribute to this goal by developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating a range of NGV exhibitions, events and publications aimed at engaging and inspiring children, teens and families.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of high quality exhibitions and participatory installations for children, teen and family audiences, including research, development, delivery, maintenance and evaluation.  Other key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and delivering an annual program of events and initiatives for audiences including children, teenagers and community groups, which meet audience engagement objectives.
• Using creativity and innovation to increase the depth and breadth of audience engagement. Developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and programming partners to extend the reach and impact of initiatives.
• Writing, coordinating and contributing to the strategic planning of promotional communications collated in liaison with Marketing and Media teams.

To be successful you will have experience in developing innovative, engaging audience engagement experiences within a major art institution or similar organisation, or have a minimum of three years teaching experience. You will also be able to manage multiple projects with conflicting timelines and demands with efficiency and effectiveness.
