The City of Stonnington is seeking a professional Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Advisor to join our Risk, Safety & Assurance Department.
As a key member of the Safety & Prevention team, you will be responsible for the provision of OH&S information, advice and assistance, incident and emergency management and OH&S induction and training. You will also be responsible for ensuring safety audits are conducted for Council operations and external contractors on a regular and on-going basis and recommend preventative measures.
This position will be responsible for ensuring all staff in emergency management roles (such as fire wardens) are provided with appropriate training, monitoring compliance with OHS statutory requirements and conducting internal auditing of service unit functions and highlight opportunities for either corporate or localised system enhancements.
The successful applicant will have a tertiary qualification in OH&S or related field with some experience or extensive experience within the OH&S environment, well-developed knowledge of OH&S legislation, a safety auditor qualification as well as the ability to work constructively with management, team leaders and staff at all levels
