We are seeking a professional Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Advisor to join our People Department.
As a key member of the Safety & Prevention team, you will be responsible for the provision of OH&S information, advice and assistance, incident and emergency management and OH&S induction and training. You will also be responsible for ensuring safety audits are conducted for Council operations and external contractors on a regular and on-going basis. Additionally, you’ll play a key part in the review of the service unit functions and highlighting opportunities for enhancements and recommending preventative measures.
The successful applicant will have a tertiary qualification in OH&S or related field with some experience or extensive experience within the OH&S environment, well-developed knowledge of OH&S legislation, a safety auditor qualification as well as the ability to work constructively with management, team leaders and staff at all levels
