Purpose of Position
To provide advice, guidance and support to the ISLHD Hub or Division to ensure compliance with ISLHD’s Work Health and Safety Management System (SMS), including compliance with ISLHD WHS strategic direction and relevant statutory requirements.

Please note: Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

  • Relevant qualifications in WHS (minimum Certificate IV in WHS) or equivalent experience and relevant skills and knowledge in Risk Management.
  • Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of the NSW Work Health and Safety legislation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Manual Handling issues within workplace health and safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to audit WHS systems or current accreditation as an auditor of the NSW Health Occupational Health, Safety and Injury Management (OHS&IM) Profile or eligibility to apply for accreditation.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement, manage and coordinate WHS activities/programs/processes and systems which have targeted objectives and positive cultural impact.
  • Relevant qualifications in Training and Assessment (minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) and demonstrated ability to identify training needs, coordinate training programs, and facilitate risk management training.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills including sound conflict resolution and negotiation skills, and time management project management/planning/administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Current, unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
