Senior Health, Safety and Environment Advisor - Children's Programs

YMCA Children's Programs includes the areas of Early Learning, Before and After School Care Programs and limited hours of child care. About the role

Reporting to the Safety, Health and Environment Manager, the Senior Safety, Health and Environment Advisor will work closely with operations, ensuring the organisation achieves successful results in the HSE and risk appetite strategies. The Senior Advisor will support the delivery of SMART Plans with a specific focus on training and assurance.

Selection criteria

  • Ability to provide leadership, support and guidance in often complex, environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional risk and hazard management skills.
  • Public speaking and training facilitation.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders including external bodies across the industry.
  • Ability to conduct research and identify existing research in the area of Health and Safety.
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects.
  • An interest and passion for health and safety.
  • Ability to provide high level and specialist advice in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualification the area of Health and Safety, auditing and training preferred.
  • Health and Safety related licenses and qualifications i.e. working at height, confined space entry, emergency management.
  • Working With Children Check
  • Safeguarding Children and Young People Certificate (completion online prior to commencement)
