Human Resources Advisor

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Advisor to join our Employee and Industrial Relations unit.

Primary Objectives:

The position focus is primarily the provision of comprehensive professional Human Resource Advisory service to Council, employees, clients and the community in best practice human resource and industrial relations management. 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations or other suitable qualifications and / or extensive Human Resource / Industrial Relations experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience within a senior human resource generalist role in a large multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Experience in strategic human resource management integrated into organisational change programs. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in interpreting and applying provisions of industrial awards, certified agreements and employment legislation across a diverse workforce.
  • Ability and experience in developing and delivering training sessions in the area of employee induction, EEO, recruitment & selection and general human resource management.
  • Skill in drafting, interpreting and applying human resource polices and procedures for a large multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Ability to communicate and engage with a wide variety of individuals and or teams.
  • Ability to manage the needs of dealing with employees whilst maintaining a business focus. 
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate using a range of mediums within a large multidisciplined organisation

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a national police history check.
