Based at our Wahgunyah Uncle Tobys factory we have an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Health & Environment Coordinator to join our team.

A DAY IN THE LIFE…

Reporting to the SHE Manager, you will be part of a collaborative team who are passionate about ensuring a strong safety culture in our Wahgunyah site. As a dynamic and dedicated Health and Safety professional, you will drive safety & health activities and coach line managers and employees in Safety, Health and Environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Maintain elements of the SHE management system
  • Ensure the ongoing performance monitoring for SHE processes to support the timely and accurate completion of risk assessments, incident investigation and root cause analysis and close out of corrective actions
  • Health Monitoring & Occupational Hygiene Coordination
  • Safety Improvement through partnering with engineering and operations teams in project development, assessment and execution
  • Lead and support the development and implementation of SHE systems, projects and initiatives as required
  • Participate in the development of annual SHE strategies and planning

This is a site-based role, working Monday to Friday. Some flexibility may be required to respond to our 24/7 operations. You will be joining a high performing team with an excellent track record for safety performance.

ARE YOU A FIT?

You will be an experienced health and safety professional with experience in a manufacturing or site-based environment.

Your passion for safety means you will always strive to strengthen the site safety culture, coaching and developing others to foster preventative and proactive safety performance. Through strong communication skills you will engage with staff at all levels, easily building relationships and developing rapport.

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Maintenance of SHE management systems.
  • Tertiary or diploma level qualifications in SHE would be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of ICAM – or similar root cause analysis tool
  • Sound risk management knowledge and sound project management skills
  • Auditing qualifications would be advantageous as would Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment
  • Experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing / site-based environment

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and have Permanent Residency.
