Reporting to the Manager People and Culture, and working as a Business Partner to the General Manager Governance and Engagement, this newly created position will serve as a subject matter expert to the business on a broad range of people related issues, as well as playing a key role in driving a leader led culture across Council by assessing and anticipating people related needs.  Through collaborative partnerships across the organisation and the leveraging of people and culture centres of excellence, the role will deliver value-adding and innovative services and support to leaders and employees that are reflective of our people and culture strategies and our strategic objectives.  

More specifically the Coordinator People and Culture Partnering will: 
  • Lead a team of People and Culture Partners to ensure delivery of strategic, high quality and consistent support across Council and contribute to the organisation’s culture, goals and objectives
  • Lead and partner with managers and supervisors to build organisational capacity, manage performance and strengthen people management skills and capability
  • Provide advice and guidance on organisational change processes and change management principles
  • Provide advice on the interpretation of policies and procedures, employment legislation and agreements
  • Lead and provide timely, sound, and authoritative advice to support the resolution of employee relations issues, grievances and processes
  • Conduct effective, fit-for-purpose and objective investigations where appropriate
  • Champion the implementation of diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, induction practices, performance planning, learning and development, employee recognition and health safety and wellbeing
To be considered for this position you will have a demonstrated depth and breadth of experience leading a HR business partnering model, including driving HR policies, systems, strategies and programs. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated successful experience in delivering contemporary solutions-focused HR initiatives that are consistent with strategic objectives. Significant ER/IR experience, particularly in building performance, coaching managers and case managing under-performance, disciplinary and associated issues will see you be successful in this role. Key to the position is experience working across a complex and diverse organisation with a proven commitment to delivering effective outcomes with consideration to diversity and inclusion.
