Industrial and Workplace Relations Advisor

An exciting opportunity has become available for an engaging and professional Industrial and Workplace Relations Advisor to join the People and Culture team at the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.  
 
This is a newly created position, where you will be joining a transformed People and Culture area, with a newly developed vision and strategy, in leading the organisation in a way of culture change.
 
You will advise, support, and coach the organisation on all industrial and workplace relations needs and build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will manage all IR and ER related matters and take a leading role in providing expertise in the following areas:
  • Investigation and resolutions of misconduct, grievances, performance management and disciplinary matters;
  • Implement initiatives/programs around prevention and resolution of disputes and grievances;
  • Interpretation of collective agreements, legislation and relative awards;
  • Negotiating and drafting enterprise agreements;
  • Employment contracts and relevant procedures;
  • Preparation of documentations for the Fair Work Commission, and represent and advocate before various industrial tribunals and commissions.
This position will require you to work closely within the team where you will actively contribute to a range of other HR services while being responsible for all things People and Culture.
 
To be successful in this positon, you must have a tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to Industrial/Employment Relations and/or Human Resources, and/or Employment Law, and have substantial experience. You will be able to demonstrate your experience in advising on complex employee relations cases, a sound understanding of the relevant legislation, and excellent negotiation and influencing skills to engage, nurture and support the organization across all levels.
