Safety Health and Wellbeing Advisor

About the role:

Heritage is passionate about respecting people by protecting their safety, health and wellbeing. As the Safety Health & Wellbeing Advisor you will work closely with a variety of stakeholders to implement initiatives and provide specialist advice. You provide operational Safety, Health and Wellbeing (SHW) advice and support the HW Manager in delivering outcomes for the business. 

  • Provide case management and coaching in a range of SHW processes including: workers compensation, injury & illness management, incident investigation, hazard management and investigation
  • Support the implementation of robust risk management practices through identification and assessment of work place hazards and the develop appropriate measures to eliminate or control these hazards
  • Promote and embed a proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the organisation for the prevention of injuries and illness and support effective execution of these strategies.
  • Support effective development of WHS training, communication and consultation mechanisms with our people and their representatives on decisions that may affect health, safety, welfare or rehabilitation. 
  • Development and maintenance of contemporary WHS procedures.
  • Provide WHS subject matter expertise for all aspects of organisational safety including high risk tasks as well as advise on the focus and outcomes of Incident Investigations.
  • Provide effective incident management including co-ordinating and/or conducting investigations into incidents and/or near misses and providing timely support to managers and staff. 
  • Development and provision of timely and accurate reporting on health, safety and wellbeing performance metrics and benchmarks including documentation management.              

About you:

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the safety and wellbeing of their colleagues. An advisor who can role model our key cultural attributes and values through coaching, supporting and advising others, ensuring the SHW of our people is maintained.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated competence in incident investigation
  • Experience in conducting and documenting risk assessments.
  • Experienced in Workers’ Compensation case management, rehabilitation case management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards relevant to the organisation and industry.

Location:

This opportunity can be based in either our Toowoomba head office or Brisbane office; however, there will be some travel to Toowoomba and other branch locations as requested in order to adequately perform the role and according to business requirements.
