Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory, to inpatient and home and community based services.

The Department. 

The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Unit reports through to the Executive Director, People and Culture. The OHS Unit works with managers, health and safety representatives and staff across Alfred Health to make sure everyone is safe at work, supported at work and healthy at work.

The Role

Alfred Health is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic OHS Coordinator to join our OHS team. You will play a vital role in influencing our safety culture by contributing to the continuous and sustained improvement of Alfred Health OHS performance and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Understanding of and ability to research OHS legislation and standards
  • Analytical mindset and ability to read and interpret data to draw conclusion and trends
  • Ability to develop and document systems and process of work.

Skills

  • Certificate 4 or Diploma in OHS and hands-on application in an organisation.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in relevant role
  • Experience in OHS management in complex organisations
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems
  • Ability to conducting Risk Assessments, Incident Investigations and Internal Auditing
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, particularly influencing, negotiation and motivation skills across a diverse client base.
  • Experience in Healthcare will be well regarded but not necessary
