Senior Human Resource Advisor - Limited Tenure

The People Culture & Capability team are looking for an experienced Senior Advisor in a limited tenure capacity due to the incumbent taking maternity leave.

The team plays an integral part in influencing business strategy and the decision making process. We focus our efforts on operational programs and services that support employees and organisational objectives.

What does a day in the life of a Senior Advisor look like?

  • Support management by providing expertise and advice regarding performance management and disciplinary situations;
  • Advise direct supervisors on a range of HR matters and queries on a daily basis;
  • Educate, coach and mentor direct supervisors in regards to key HR objectives;
  • Work collectively to mitigate IR risk for Council;
  • Consistently working to ensure high level of quality and efficiency;
  • Partner with direct supervisors to implement and drive a variety of culture initiatives; and
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key internal stakeholders at all levels.

This is a true generalist role advising on all aspects of human resources including: HR policy, employee relations, management coaching and advisory, learning and development, employee engagement and retention, performance management and workplace health and safety. This position would ideally suit someone who has experience in partnering with a large blue collar workforce.

Our ideal new team member will have a strong HR background relating to performance management, grievance management, end-to-end recruitment, investigations and delivery of outcomes. You'll be a resilient individual that can drive change across diverse occupational groups and a confident people person with an engaging and influential style.

This position will predominantly be based at Council's Operations Centre and will be responsible for the Risk & WHS Officer.
