Reporting to the Head of People Services, our Work Health & Safety Manager plays a key role in leading our people agenda across the nib Group. Actively developing a high performance organisational culture, leadership team and level of engagement amongst out employees is a pivotal element of nib’s business strategy. You will be instrumental in supporting the organisation to achieve this goal. This role will see you oversee the management, development, implementation and maintenance of the nib Group WHS and injury management policies and procedures. Your role will ensure the effective management of workers compensation (including injury management and return to work), WHS communication, training and education and health and wellbeing strategy and initiatives.
What you will do
About you
Due to the nature of our agile business, we are looking for you to have extensive experience in a senior WHS position in a similar professional services environment. Ideally, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification to back up your hands on experience.
Your experience in leading and managing teams within a high performance culture where constant change and growth are considered the ‘norm’ will see you well placed for success in this role. You will see yourself as a natural leader with a demonstrated ability to effectively coach, mentor and develop WHS professionals, along with the ability to build and engage in meaningful relationships at all business levels.
You will have extensive experience managing workers compensation claims and conducting investigations into WHS matters in accordance with legislative guidelines and industry best practice. You will have a strong knowledge of WHS legislation and ideally knowledge of New Zealand Health & Safety legislation.
You will be comfortable to deal with ambiguity whilst innovating and delivering across the nib’s strategic agenda. Mostly, you are self-motivated and solutions focussed with a true passion for what you do which will see you add value through a positive contribution to organisational growth, project delivery and culture development.
