HR Business Partner

We're a team that cares about you and your community. CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy own and operate the electricity distribution networks servicing 1.9 million customers located across 65% of Victoria. These customers include a large numbers of households, as well as commercial and industrial businesses, world class arts, health and sporting precincts, popular tourism regions and the biggest infrastructure projects in Victoria.

We value inclusive leadership and teams and celebrate the results of succeeding together. But our greatest priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the communities we operate within. This includes their physical safety - ensuring everyone gets home safely everyday - as well as their psychological safety, by ensuring everyone has the resources and support needed to achieve a work-life balance and be the best they can be.

About the role:

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team in a full time permanent capacity, based out of our Market Street head office (with hybrid working available).

As a HR Business Partner, you'll be a key partner to business units internally, providing HR and employee relations counsel and coaching, whilst ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and legislation. You will also implement all people related strategies as part of the support you provide to your business units, whilst contributing to the corporate people and learning strategic plans.

The role requires someone adept at building trusting relationships, along with sound problem solving and decision-making capabilities. Critical to a HR role in our organisation is your ability to deliver high quality outcomes through fostering a workplace culture of inclusiveness and collaboration, and always role modelling our company values.

What you'll deliver:

  • Build effective stakeholder relationships across the business, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation, and to introduce positive change based on technical skills and credibility.
  • Act as the point of escalation for resolving difficult issues or problems.
  • Establish effective HR partnerships with key business unit stakeholders, including senior leadership, providing guidance, counsel and support on all human resource and employee relations matters.
  • Liaise with key business stakeholders to identify talent and capability needs and provide insights and advice on job design and future capability requirements.
  • Support cyclical people related programs of work, such as key talent and development planning, annual performance reviews, the remuneration review process, and our employee opinion survey and action planning.
  • Lead and/or contribute to programs of work as assigned, which may cover a wide variety of HR topics such as policy development, procedure writing, documentation and file management.

To succeed in the role, you'll have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a senior HR role, influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Detailed working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other related requirements.
  • Sound leadership skills ideally gained within a partnering role.
  • Ability to make informed decisions to improve service delivery, processes and capability.
  • Commercially astute; able to prepare financial analyses and business cases for executive review.
  • Knowledge of industry leading HR practice, models and solutions.
