About the opportunity: 

People and Culture are seeking a WHS Systems and Risk Manager to join their team in a permanent capacity. The WHS Systems & Risk Manager provides SA Power Networks with high level expertise, direction and leadership in the identification, analysis and management of safety related systems across of a wide range of environments. The key objective is meeting compliance with business governance, health & safety, legal and sustainability responsibilities, while promoting a positive and proactive safety culture.

The role oversees the High-Risk Work Assurance Program and lead WHS Systems. This includes but is not limited to IT platforms such as Enablon and SitePass with a focus on continuous improvement, integration, technology, and lean principles applied to building relationships with key stakeholders and driving team objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include 

The WHS Systems and Risk Manager will be: 

  • Responsible for the WHS related IT management systems for continuous improvement including , documentation, performance, and reporting for owners, the Board, ELT, RMCC, Sustainability and Regulatory authorities.
  • Develop and provide safety management advice, assistance, and training to the organisation in policy, procedure and WHS IT Systems
  • Responsible for delivery, integration, development and continuous improvement of Safety Management Systems and Programs using technology and lean methodology.
  • Responsible for the WHS Risk Management framework with focus on high-risk activities and programs, including Drug and Alcohol, Asbestos, Occupational Hygiene, Dust monitoring and RTW.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and completion of the SAPN Work Health Safety & Environment strategy and annual plan.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in a senior safety role, (preferably in a large, multifaceted high risk work environment) or a similar regulatory business, with experience managing and improving integrated systems. While experience in WHS systems will be highly regarded it is not essential if you can demonstrate a background in systems management or analytics. You will lead by example for the benefit of the team, demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, be solution driven and able to deal with multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines. You will be highly organised, have a team first mentality and be capable of hitting the ground running!
