Safety and Health Officer
The City of Bunbury is seeking a Safety and Health Officer to support the Senior OSH Coordinator in driving a safety culture within our organisation. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who has a passion for this field of work. This role is responsible for Workers' Compensation administration and injury management coordination; will assist with the facilitation and implementation of the OSH Management System and the OSH Management Plan.
Our preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years industry experience and/or a Cert IV or equivalent qualification in Occupational Safety and Health.
The successful candidate will be required to supply a National Police Clearance at the appointment stage.
The responsibilities for this role include:
- Assist with the implementation of OSH strategies
- Administer and coordinate Workers Compensation and Injury Management
- Guide and support City personnel in safety matters
- Inspire and influence a safety culture throughout the organisation
- Develop and review OSH procedures
- General administrative and filing duties utilising our records management system and maintaining accurate records
The key skills required for this role include:
- Cert IV or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health
- Minimum 5 years industry experience
- Injury management coordination
- Workers' Compensation management
- Demonstrated experience in Risk Management
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills
What we offer
Conditions of employment are in accordance with the City of Bunbury Employee's 2018 Enterprise Agreement with a Level 4 salary range of $66,920 to $69,600 depending on experience and qualifications.
- 12 Month Fixed-term Contract
- Full time (76 hours per fortnight)
- 9.5% superannuation
