Project and Change Management Advisor

The Position

CSIRO is seeking an experienced Project and Change Management Advisor. In this dynamic role, you will lead and educate the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team in a range of project and change management principles. You will also be responsible for aligning, driving and tracking the implementation of HSE strategic projects.

The HSE team successfully partners with staff across all levels of the organisation; coaching and influencing to make safety personal.  They provide future-focussed, leading-edge development and delivery of HSE programs that result in significant improvement in CSIRO’s wellbeing and safety culture.

Your duties will include:

  • Driving and supporting the implementation of CSIRO’s HSE strategy through technical leadership and delivery of priority HSE activities and initiatives.
  • Leading the training and implementation of project and change management skills within the HSE function to challenge the status quo.
  • Developing, supporting, training and coaching others in the use of project management and change tools.
  • Endorsing HSE culture and leading by example, acknowledging and promoting key desired behaviours to enable the growth of a high performing, positive and proactive HSE culture across CSIRO. 

Location:          Negotiable - Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart, Canberra, Melbourne or Adelaide
Salary:               $97k to $105k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:             Specified term of 18 months

To be successful, you will need:

  • A relevant Certificate or tertiary qualification, such as Change Management (e.g. PROSCI accreditation) or Project Management (e.g. PMBOK), or equivalent management/leadership experience in a relevant area.
  • Experience in delivering project management and/or change management in complex or large organisations and fostering an inclusive culture whilst delivering technically excellent and continuous improvement.
  • A history of delivering project outcomes to be on budget, schedule, to scope, to meet stakeholder expectations and with appropriately mitigated risks.
  • The ability to work with regionally dispersed teams including a history of training and coaching others in the use of project management and/or change management tools.
  • Strong ability to set and meet challenging standards and goals, cope with ambiguity and solve complex problems.
