Talent is a peer business unit with People, comprising of Talent Management, Leadership, Alumni and Talent Acquisition. This leadership role is responsible for proactively building excellent relationships with hiring managers, business leaders and People Business Partners to ensure a seamless, consistent and integrated approach to talent acquisition.  

The Talent Acquisition Business Partner is responsible for working closely with business units, specifically Information Management and Technology (IM&T) and Data 61 to define their diverse skill requirements, talent acquisition sourcing strategy and workforce planning skill requirements. In addition, the role will be responsible for contributing to the management and implementation of talent acquisition transformation project streams, engaging with CSIRO project teams and subject matter experts to ensure talent business objectives and strategy are delivered.

Your duties will include:

  • Partner with business unit leaders and People Business Partners to understand current and future talent needs, develop sourcing strategies, building a strong pipeline of talent from multiple technologies
  • Work with business leaders in defining their strategic talent sourcing plan and communicate effectively in monthly, quarterly and annual yearly progress sessions 
  • Analyse talent acquisition reporting such as key metrics and KPIs, providing consistent operational reporting to all relevant stakeholders to make informed and effective recruitment decisions
  • Partner with People Business Partners to define future skill requirements and deliver effective market mapping, identifying IT talent within the specific industries/sectors
  • Support Talent Acquisition Partner colleagues in providing daily operational development to Administration Specialists to build skill capability and industry knowledge
  • Coach and support team members in developing people leadership capability, providing guidance to manage issues and dedicating time to provide feedback and technical support 
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Services Team to support a seamless, high touch and efficient onboarding experience and candidate communications
  • Understand KPIs, seeking support and information to understand and exceed minimum targets
  • Participate in online and in person recruitment forums and events to promote CSIRO employee value proposition to candidates and the talent acquisition community

To be considered you will need:

  • Previous team management in a fast paced, high volume environment with a focus on high levels of performance, understanding and application of data to guide decision making when managing team or stakeholder requirements
  • Subject matter expertise in IT talent acquisition, IT sourcing channel management
  • Previous experience as a senior business partner in a talent acquisition team, either in house or within an RPO model
  • Skilled in a variety of candidate attraction channels with a focus on diversity and niche skill requirements  
  • Collaborative approach to talent acquisition with specific focus on stakeholder and candidate management, communication, business requirements and budget constraints 
  • High level oral and written communication and consulting skills, specifically in building and maintaining effective, collaborative working relationships across all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders 
  • Proactive, solutions focused approach to managing individual and team contribution, with specific emphasis on alignment with CSIRO Talent guiding principles of being visible, easy to do business with, accountable, curious and collaborative 

Eligibility
