CSIRO is looking for a motivated and driven Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to deliver talent-based solutions to increase the representation of Indigenous people across our agency.

The Indigenous Talent Acquisition Business Partner will work with the Executive Manager, TA to partner, train and coach Talent Acquisition Team leaders and partners, Hiring Managers and other key stakeholders to deliver effective and consistent Indigenous Talent solutions across the agency.

You will lead a team of Indigenous talent specialists to deliver a range of Indigenous employment and talent programs and projects across the agency and will work collaboratively across Talent Acquisition (TA), People function, Indigenous Science and Engagement Program and CSIRO more broadly to implement the Indigenous Employment Strategy.

The Indigenous Talent Acquisition Business Partner is an active member of the Indigenous Science and Engagement team and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff Network and is expected to attend meetings and advocate for the needs of internal and external Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Your duties will include:

  • Support the implementation of CSIRO Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy, Reconciliation Action Plan and Indigenous Science and Engagement Strategy.
  • Actively contribute and participate in the CSIRO Indigenous Governance Framework to coordinate Indigenous Talent acquisition requirements across CSIRO. 
  • Partner, influence and provide strategic advice to business leaders and Strategic Business Partners to understand current and future talent needs and opportunities that can deliver sustainable employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Act as the manager of the Indigenous Talent Team and have a sound understanding of Business Unit goals and activities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and demonstrate creativity in anticipating client needs and identify and adapt to changes in client needs and market changes.

Location: Negotiable – Any Australian CSIRO site
Salary: AU$121,455k - AU$142,321k per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified Term of up to 18 months (Parental leave cover)

To be considered you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing employment strategies that have delivered sustainable employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Collaborative approach to talent acquisition with specific focus on stakeholder and candidate management, communication, business requirements and budget constraints
  • Demonstrated and proactive, solutions focused approach to managing individual and team contribution, with specific emphasis on alignment with CSIRO Talent guiding principles of being visible, easy to do business with, accountable, curious and collaborative.
