As Australia’s National Science Research Organisation, it is vital that we make workforce investments to ensure the right people are in the right place, at the right time to deliver strategic business outcomes. As an experienced Senior Strategic Workforce Planning Specialist, you will play a pivotal role supporting CSIRO to reach these targets within an innovative, agile and diverse high-performing team.

This varied role will provide specialist expertise in strategic and operational workforce planning, working within the People sector to implement initiatives across the organisation to establish a consolidated view of future critical capabilities.

Create a genuine impact in this role by executing your skills in data analysis, working knowledge of people data, processes, systems, frameworks and legislation to consult with CSIRO BUs, Missions and Leadership Teams who require workforce planning expertise to build plans to prepare for the future!

Your duties will include:

  • Developing and implementing an organisation-wide workforce strategy as a member of the Workforce Planning (WP) team. 
  • Contributing to the development of all BU WP outputs and the development of a whole-of-CSIRO picture in relation to WP.
  • As a member of the SWP team, contributing to continual improvement of SWP and OWP methodology and processes.
  • Sharing SWP expertise and contribute to the development of the professional skills of others, primarily with HR/People Partners to ensure we build SWP and OWP capability. 
  • Contributing to the introduction and uptake of new perspectives/directions to address long-standing organisation-wider matters. 
  • Understanding and working closely with other CSIRO functions to collaborate and ensure high quality delivery of outcomes and outputs.

Location: CSIRO Sites in Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney preferred, other locations will be considered. Hybrid working environment available.
Salary: AU$105,806 to $114,500 pa (pro-rata for part-time) + up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified term until 31 May 2024 (leave cover)

To be considered you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Business and experience in best-practice WP methodology. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills with previous experience working with standard business intelligence dashboards and reporting.
  • A strong history of establishing and working effectively with a range of key stakeholders, with well-developed people skills, including the ability to speak to both technical and business concerns, particularly in the Human Resource domain.
  • Ability to work effectively and deliver outcomes in an ambiguous and constantly changing environment.
  • Proven experience in implementing projects or initiatives and ability to work with a high level of independence. 
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral including the ability to influence effectively and a track record of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts, experience with machine learning and predictive analytics and of HR processes, policies, legislation, and frameworks also well regarded.
