The Opportunity

Boomaroo is a world class vegetable seedling and Greenlife plant producer, operating across multiple sites and supplying over 280 million vegetable seedlings to growers across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, and South Australia. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and experienced HR Manager who can develop effective relationships with line managers and provide a professional HR service to the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the CEO, this role will be an integral part of the Boomaroo leadership team. You will be highly collaborative with the ability to build trust, maintain good relationships and cooperation with all key stakeholders. 

This role is a full-time position, 38 hours per week, with a competitive salary and has one direct report in HR admin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human resource planning - develop, implement and maintain human resource policies across the business, including training programs to educate and promote awareness of regulatory compliance. 
  • Recruitment and selection - support staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; coaching managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
  • Reporting and management of human resource metrics - produce reports on key metrics, including remuneration, leave, absenteeism and turnover. 
  • Leadership - mentor managers, supervisors and team leaders, and provide coaching to help them reach potential.
  • Performance management - deliver performance management programs that drive a high-performance culture. 
  • Learning and development - develop, implement and monitor effectiveness of training programs. 
  • Ensure compliance with Government legislation, FairWork, awards and other directives

To be successful in this role the incumbent will require;

Essential

  • A tertiary qualification in human resources management or business management and extensive knowledge of and experience within an HR environment. 
  • A demonstrated track record in developing and implementing strategic business and HR objectives within a complex, multi-site business.
  • Superior interpersonal, coaching, communication, negotiation and consultative skills at all levels.
  • Ability to engage with and win respect of leaders to successfully influence them on key change initiatives. 
  • Demonstrated high level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Excellent organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of or competence in Employment Hero HRIS
