The role

Reporting to the Learning & Organisational Lead, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Consultant represents a significant role within the City of Monash. You will be an integral part of the development and implementation of a culture that embraces diversity and inclusion.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement a Diversity & Inclusion plan that supports current initiatives including the Gender Equity Action Plan, Rainbow Tick and RAP
  • Design policies, programs and practices of work that compliments the Diversity and Inclusion plan and broader Council activities
  • Create opportunities for the Council to raise engagement and awareness

Who we are looking for

We are seeking an experienced Diversity & Inclusion specialist who is a strategic thinker, happy to get their hands dirty and comfortable to provide advice. You will also demonstrate the following:

  • A sound understanding or experience of internal diversity frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and managing diversity projects and initiatives
  • Current knowledge of relevant legislation including Gender Equity Act
  • Able to work effectively and build partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage long term projects and short-term initiatives
