Job description:

The Opportunity

As our Employment Relations Partner you will provide thought leadership across industrial relations, performance management, investigation processes, and people policies. You will provide coaching and guidance to the People & Culture team and the business as required in a pragmatic, operationally viable and commercial way.

The Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain a network Industrial Relations framework, aligned to business strategy.
  • Provide strategic, process and ad hoc negotiation support to P&C Managers and Plant Managers in the negotiation of EAs.
  • Establish people policies, including the establishment of ANZ policies, standards and guidelines, and the maintenance of same; develop and maintain standard performance improvement, investigation, and reporting processes, whilst providing coaching and support in the application of these.
  • Determine and manage employee terms and conditions including contracts, clauses, notice periods, restraint periods; ensure our employment contracts, policies and procedures are compliant with the legislative requirements of the jurisdictions we operate in.
  • Liaise with ANZ in-house Legal team, ensuring alignment and manage advice/escalations as required; manage governance requirements and relationships with engaging external advisors.

The Ingredients for Success

Just like you can't make a Tim Tam without chocolate, there are a few essential ingredients we need for this role:

  • Sound knowledge of IR/ER legislation across Australia with degree qualifications in HR, IR or Legal.
  • Several years' experience in a similar position within industries comparative to FMCG.
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience in employment bargaining agreements.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with experience developing relevant best practice strategies, frameworks, and tools.
  • High commercial acumen with an ability to make sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, a high attention to detail, relationship management and influencing skills; the ability and willingness to be both hands on and strategic.
