The Training Branch within ASIO primarily develops, delivers and evaluates projects and programs which enhance ASIO’s core business training across various Divisions within the Organisation.

ASIO is seeking suitably qualified Learning & Development Officers at the APS 5, 6 and EL 1 levels. The functions of these roles, at the various levels, is to:

• Assist Training Branch to successfully deliver programs and initiatives to enhance ASIO culture and Organisational capability;
• Effectively navigate change and prioritise workload to ensure the delivery of a suite of successful training initiatives;
• Maintain a high level of service delivery to contribute to the professionalism of ASIO;
• Understand and apply moderation process to ongoing training within the Organisation; and
• Initiate, design and deliver ad hoc projects to enhance ASIO’s people capabilities.

Successful applicants will be required to deliver and support:

• The scoping of new training initiatives and consultation with stakeholders;
• The development of doctrine, curriculums, delivery plans, session plans and resourcing requirements;
• The development and review of evaluation strategies for individual and/or a suite of ASIO training programs delivered both in house and externally; and
• The facilitation of various training programs.

Suitable applicants will possess the following:

• Knowledge of contemporary methods in adult education and experiential learning – tertiary qualifications in Education or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly desirable;
• Demonstrated experience in face to face facilitation of training programs is highly desirable, as is experience in the coordination of training delivery and/or project or event management; and
• High level communication and engagement skills and the ability to work effectively with a high level of independence and within a team is essential.
