The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) is a Commonwealth statutory body located on Thursday Island. The TSRA is engaged in a wide range of service delivery functions to Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people living in the Torres Strait region.

The TSRA Corporate Services Team is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the following ongoing opportunity:

*SALARY RANGE $93,925 - $114,282 P/A 

The Human Resources (HR) Manager leads and manages the delivery of all services relating to the access and delivery of TSRA’s HR function.

The role is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective workplace and employment framework including: HR strategies and plans, policies and procedures, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and rehabilitation framework, system and practices that ensure the TSRAs ability to attract, retain, develop and manage a highly engaged and committed work force. Occupying a critical role in the overall strategic management of the TSRA, the HR Manager is expected to provide high level strategic advice to the Corporate Services Manager & Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Executive Officer and the senior management team.

The HR Manager leads and manages a small team responsible for the full range of both operational and strategic human resources and people development matters. The HR Manager is supported by four employees engaged primarily to undertake the majority of the transactional activities. In addition, this role has responsibility for the reception function and has two employees engaged to provide superior support and administration support. 

*Generous allowances are paid on top of the salary listed above.  Allowances include district allowance, leave fare allowance (payable after 12 months of service) and housing subsidy.  Superannuation is paid at 15.4%.
