How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator Events Operations; your role as the Event Operations Officer will be part of a productive team that permit filming, weddings, balloon operations, promotions, and low-risk events in public spaces across Melbourne.
In this role you will be responsible for contributing to the overall team by ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to customers when processing and maintaining bookings and that information is accurately recorded in digital booking systems.
To be successful in this role you must have great attention to detail and enjoy working within set procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency when taking bookings; this includes keeping accurate financial and risk management related records whilst maintaining excellent customer service at all times. As the Event Operations Officer it will be expected that you will also identify and drive improvements within your work area and support the vision of the overall Tourism and Events branch including when appropriate, work with other areas of Tourism and Events in administrative support.

- Flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a range of administrative tasks as required across the branch in support of the branch objectives.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with a strong understanding of, and commitment to, quality customer service.
- Demonstrated experience with, or aptitude for, interpretation and application of statutory regulations.
- Knowledge of risk management techniques and how they apply to events and/or public space.
- Understanding and appreciation of public space and its various uses within a capital city.
- Well-developed computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
