Reporting to the General Manager this position will work alongside the executive leadership team to lead organisation wide development and implementation of safety strategy and reform.  You will manage Council’s safety portfolio focusing on the development of strategic objectives, risk identification and implementation of innovative solutions to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of employees.  You will lead the safety and asbestos response teams to deliver effective programs and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards through development, implementation and delivery of Councils safety management systems and asbestos management plan. 

You will be degree qualified and have experience in working at a senior level in the safety field.  Your energy, commitment to achieve and ability to engage key stakeholders will enable your team to further develop the organisations approach to safety management and deliver organisation outcomes. Your interpersonal skills, project management experience and commitment to business improvement will enable you to negotiate and implement sustainable change.

Salary:  circa $145,000.
