About the NSW SES

The NSW SES serves the community of NSW as the lead agency for floods, storms and tsunami as specified by the State Emergency Act 1989 and is recognised as the more versatile and widely used emergency service organisation in NSW. The NSW SES volunteers are highly-skilled, experienced and well-trained in the wide variety of roles they perform. Each Unit is as unique and varied as the community they serve due to the vast mix of risks faced and roles required in the diverse locations and communities across the state.

In addition to flood, storm and tsunami, NSW SES provide specialist capabilities including general land rescue, vertical rescue, road crash rescue, and alpine and remote area search and rescue. The NSW SES frequently assists other emergency services in a variety of roles, such as supporting NSW Police in searches for evidence and missing persons and the Ambulance Service of NSW as Community First Responders in rural locations.

 About the role

The Workforce Planning Support officer is responsible for HR systems maintenance, management of workforce data in line with local procedures, developing and evaluating role descriptions and generating key reports to assist in HR analytics and informed people decisions.

The Workforce Planning Support Officer will also be required to manage key documents within relevant electronic data management systems and the relevant HR information systems.

Reporting to the Senior Manager HR Services the Workforce Planning Support Officer will work closely with Recruitment and other HR Services.

To be successful in this role you will have a high attention to detail, maintain confidentiality and work well autonomously while interacting with other team members within the HR directorate.

It is essential that you understand public sector employment practices, HR management functions including the role of a workforce establishment and HR systems.

Experience in role SAP HR establishment will be highly desirable.
