We now have available an exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to join Kmart as HR Business Partner supporting a dedicated client group at National Office. Reporting to the HR Manager, National Office this role will see you partnering with multiple stakeholders across a diverse range of functions based in the National Office to drive and improve workforce effectiveness associated with performance management, talent development and organisational design

Through partnering with your client groups and with support from the HR specialist teams, you will be proactively working together to create a high-performance culture that delivers long term value creation for the functions and supports our vision. As the trusted advisor you will work closely with leaders to realise the full potential of our people, drive our people agenda and deliver people initiatives that will make a real difference to our teams, culture and business.

Key responsibilities for this role will include the following;

  • Partner with dedicated client groups within National Office to deliver HR services that are aligned to deliver to their people priorities ensuring successful delivery of strategic and operational HR objectives & initiatives;
  • Identify future functional capability needs, sourcing external talent, building succession plans, deploying capability programs, coaching for performance and managing people-related change.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the people strategy and its effective translation into HR business plans for the dedicated client groups
  • Drive improvement in Core HR metrics related to the National Office

As you will have full accountability you need to be one who loves rolling up your sleeves and can easily flex in a face paced working environment.

To be successful in securing this great HR opportunity, you will ideally possess the following skills and experience;

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or business-related discipline
  • Several years’ experience in generalist Human Resources (preferably within a retail or similar fast paced corporate environment)
  • Capacity to be an effective and positive change agent, continually evaluating and championing innovation
  • Demonstrated skills in; leadership, relationship building, communication, negotiation, decision making, influencing, coaching and teamwork
  • Experience in influencing key business decisions; contributing to organisational leadership
  • Trusted advisor with a sound ability to build strong relationships with senior business leaders
  • Highly organised with an ability to manage multiple tasks at any one time in a fast-paced environment
