Background
The Health Professional Councils Authority (HPCA) is an executive agency of the NSW Ministry of Health.  We play an important role in protecting the health and safety of the public by supporting the 14 NSW Health Professional Councils in managing complaints about NSW health practitioners.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and proactive Administrative Assistant to join our Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will have good communications skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a strong customer focus.

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Processing recruitment submissions and advertising vacant positions (internal and external) on e-recruitment and local media.

  • Providing advice on recruitment policy, procedures and legislation to ensure necessary documentation and approvals have been obtained prior to the lodgement of advertisements.

  • Preparing necessary documentation and approvals for the appointment of permanent, seconded and temporary staff to the HPCA. This includes the preparation of offer letters and other correspondence.

  • Provides HR support to all areas of the HR function and work on HR projects as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Graduate qualification in Human Resources or relevant discipline / Relevant experience in human resources including employment and recruitment policies, procedures and legislation

  • Understanding of employment matters and ability to interpret awards and conditions for a range of employees and the ability to interpret and apply Public Sector legislation and policy guidelines
