The Senior Communications Officers are pivotal members of our communications team. They are the key to our ability to deliver a professional and responsive communications service. They work independently and as part of a team. They play a crucial role in supporting junior team members and other staff.

Working closely with internal stakeholders from across the organisation, these vacancies provide an opportunity for you to make an impact on a range of projects and operational priorities.

The successful applicants will be team players with highly-developed writing, editing, proofing and digital production skills.

Notes:

We will invite shortlisted candidates to attend an interview and to complete a practical exercise to help us assess suitability.

Positions may be offered on an ongoing basis or non-ongoing basis for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 3 years. Non-ongoing positions may become ongoing. We may also create a merit pool from this recruitment process to fill similar roles for both ongoing and non-ongoing opportunities if, and as, they arise.

About the AAT:

The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) was established on 1 July 1976 and provides a one-stop shop for the independent review of a wide range of decisions made by the Australian Government. 

The AAT can review decisions made under more than 400 Commonwealth and Norfolk Island laws, and in limited circumstances, decisions made by state government and non-government bodies. The most common types of decisions we review relate to child support, Commonwealth workers' compensation, family assistance, paid parental leave, social security, student assistance, migration and refugee visas and visa related decisions, taxation and veterans' entitlements.
