The Role
Base Support Officers have considerable stakeholder and customer engagement responsibilities. You will be required to understand our business and develop a clear understanding of the scope of Estate & Infrastructure Group deliverables and the Service Delivery Framework that underpins service integration and collaboration practices to achieve Defence’s capability outcomes.

You will be required to represent your Department at various forums engaging with both internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and confidence.

About our Team
E&IG, SDD, East West Zone is currently looking to fill two positions at the APS 5 level, with the intention to create a merit pool to potentially fill future similar vacant APS 5 positions

The Base Management Team monitors and responds to base service delivery issues, coordinates the development of whole of base plans (i.e. Safety, Security and Emergency) across Defence sites by reviewing and monitoring Base Management arrangements to ensure currency and consistency with service delivery requirements.

The Team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to assure prescribed product and services standards are met within agreed time frames as well as builds and sustains effective relationships with team members and actively participate in team work and group activities. The Team also evaluates activities and processes for compliance with legislation, regulation or standards, design and recommend solutions to whole of base operation issues that may be affecting the achievement of desired outcomes. The Team also assess risks and provide guidance in relation to risk management strategies and develops, rehearses and maintains whole of base plans and instructions to achieve business objectives.

The Metropolitan & Remote Sites position may be located at East Fremantle or Karrakatta and is one of seven positions in a small team supporting Army, Reserve and Cadets sites across WA. The Pearce position is one of seven positions in a small team providing support to Airbases across WA. We also have positions that may become vacant at HMAS Stirling, supporting Navy in WA.
