The Opportunity

We have a full-time Safety Manager position available to join our team in Brisbane (dCAT). This role is responsible for developing, managing the implementation of health and safety protocols for dnata catering, ensuring that legislative requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing direct reports
  • Accountable for recommending measures to reduce or eliminate industrial accident and health hazards
  • Inspects and tour company facilities to detect existing or potential accident or health hazards, and recommends corrective or preventive measures where indicated
  • Responsible for facilitating implementing the company I.M.S (Integrated Safety Management System) across areas of responsibility
  • Accountable for managing relationships at all levels of the business, and drive innovation through effective leadership and planning

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • Formal qualifications in Health & Safety (Cert IV in WH&S/ Diploma)
  • Formal Qualifications in Auditing and Incident Investigations
  • Extensive understanding of WHS practices and legal requirements combined with experience in applying this knowledge in a work environment
  • Understanding of law in regard to industrial relations and workers' compensation matters
  • Sound knowledge of various legislative standards and auditing processes to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Advanced knowledge of Safety systems and standards
  • Experience in implementing safety and compliance practices in a similar industry
  • Excellent ability to recognise and resolve operational issue whilst promoting safety
  • Experience of leading projects and delivering outcomes within set standards
  • Adaptable to change and experience with implementing change management programs
  • Demonstrated experience in designing training programs that are aligned to business needs and ensuring continual improvement of training materials and outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present information in a clear logical manner, which is clear, concise and correct.
  • Ability to communicate, negotiate and consult with a wide range of clients including executive, senior management and employees with regards to catering compliance training issues, acceptable standard and processes.
