Director of People & Culture
Mona (the Museum of Old and New Art) is home to art, food, wine, architecture, festivals and other experiential delights. It’s an adult playground in Hobart, Tasmania. We’re a young organisation and, along with our related corporate entities, we employ dynamic and talented individuals who thrive on designing and delivering creative experiences. The organisation is in constant iteration as new spaces and service offerings are unleashed.
We are seeking an open-minded and resilient Director of People & Culture ready to apply a wealth of knowledge and experience in an ever-changing environment, and manage the exciting tensions in our creative organisation. The entities (also falling into your remit) assess themselves against an expansive set of success metrics (broader than revenue generation) so you will be skilled in adopting a co-design approach to develop ‘best fit’ HR frameworks and initiatives in all areas of the employee lifecycle, including employee relations and compliance, rewards, talent development, and organisational design.
As a member of Mona's executive leadership team, you will work closely with leaders across the business spanning strategic design and tactical operations, looking to ensure the P&C strategy aligns with business intent and culture. You will lead a team of Business Partners, and on occasion work alongside them to problem solve and offer surge capacity. This role also oversees the payroll function and works closely with the Safety and Wellbeing team in designing wellbeing interventions and collaborating on complex and higher risk situations.
Our culture is people focussed - put talented people in roles and enable them to autonomously and creatively perform - so supporting teams to work cooperatively will be another primary focus of the role.
