Location

This iconic Resort is situated between the renowned Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest in Tropical North Queensland. The resort comprises  295 guest rooms, suites and villas.

The Position

  • As a strategic business partner champion, develop and implement strategies that deliver business results 
  • Provide advice and information to managers and employees on the application of legislation agreements, awards, policies and procedures
  • Provide support with performance reviews, engagement, retention, employee relations, restructures, talent management and succession planning
  • You must have a working knowledge of Australian IR legislation ensuring practices are compliant
  • Conduct investigations, negotiating claims, managing complaints, grievances, performance management and disputes from employees
  • Manage planning and execution of HR activities, programs and initiatives encouraging engagement 
  • Plan, design and conduct Sheraton training programs and department specific training needs
  • Business partner with management team in supporting their strategies and ensuring succession and talent acquisition plans are in place
  • Manage all aspects of the employee life cycle inviting, welcoming and connecting with each associate 
  • Organise and execute TakeCare events and activities, creating a caring community that empowers associates to grow 
  • Create and maintain the Resorts talent acquisition strategy, networking with local organisations and recruitment channels 
  • Manage Workers Compensation claims to ensure appropriate employee care and manage costs 

About You: 

  • University Degree or equivalent in HR or Business Management 
  • Australian experience and knowledge of HR / IR legislation
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a HR Business Partner or advisory role
  • Experience in similar industry would be advantageous 
  • High level communication skills, both written and verbal, including demonstrated report writing ability
  • Self-motivated, driven and energized in a fast-paced environment
