People Partner - Talent and Resourcing

Reporting to the GM People - Victoria, the People Partner is a key member of the Victorian People team and will play a critical role in the resourcing, planning and management of talent across Aruma's Victorian workforce (approximately 1800 people in total). Key objectives of the role will include the day to day operational leadership of the Victorian Talent Acquisition Team, supporting the leadership of the Victorian business in developing and implementing practical and innovative staffing strategies (in a difficult and candidate short market) and working with members of the wider People team, both in Victoria and at a national level, to enhance, redesign and reshape the end to end recruitment process.

The People Partner will also manage a small team of Talent Advisors, Coordinators and a HR Administrator. Demonstrated experience in leading small teams is therefore essential for success in this role.

Our ideal candidate will bring to the table:

  • Leads a team of talent acquisition professionals with a collaborative, results oriented approach that drives the achievement of a wide suite of business objectives
  • Advises senior managers on recruitment and wider people matters as they arise, in line with Aruma's policies and values, and compliant with both legislative requirements and obligations under two separate Enterprise Agreements
  • Proactively works with stakeholders to ensure talent acquisition and related challenges are effectively managed in an environment where recruitment is the number one challenge in the business
  • Provides oversight, guidance, and builds capability of managers / supervisors on all aspects of recruitment, workforce planning and talent management
  • Plays a significant role in the delivery of key projects and initiatives, both within the immediate talent acquisition portfolio and across the wider People portfolio - recognising the necessity for alignment and consistency
  • A passion for talent acquisition and demonstrated experience successfully leading small teams in high volume high demand business environments
  • Capacity to inspire others and build great working relationships across a demanding group of business stakeholders
  • Ability to coach and lead in a flexible and changing environment
  • Highly developed influencing skills and the ability to balance robustness with understanding and empathy
