The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Workplace Health & Safety Officer to join our team. The role will assist in the implementation, coordination, and promotion of CNV’s Workplace Health and Safety Management System in accordance with legislative requirements and CNV Policies whilst providing advice and support to CNV employees on all things WHS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain Workplace Health & Safety Management systems, policies, and practices to ensure the health and safety of CNV staff as well as compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements.
• Undertake WHS audits and incident investigations, coordinating appropriate corrective actions and reporting on trends.
• Provide people leaders, staff and HSR’s with information, training and guidance on WHS practice, policy and procedure, empowering them to proactively manage and reduce risk.
• Contribute to a positive WHS culture at CNV, identifying and delivering health and wellbeing programs and opportunities for staff.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Qualifications at minimum Certification IV or higher in Workplace Health Safety or a related discipline combined with hands on experience working in a similar role.
• An understanding of, and experience monitoring and ensuring compliance with relevant OHS legislative and regulatory frameworks.
• An ability to contribute to a safety focused organisational culture, through Work Health & Safety systems, initiatives, projects, and strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in investigating incidents, providing recommendations and monitoring outcomes.
• Understanding of, and support for the feminist philosophy and principles of our organisation.
