The Team
The Employment and Community Relations Team provides operational and strategic advice to school Principals, who collectively employ more than 11,000 people across the state, in order to assist them in proactively managing their employment and community relations issues. This is a full-time opportunity for a period of 3 years to commence as soon as practicable.
The Role
As a trusted advisor working directly with school Principals, you will build relationships which will enable you to provide guidance and support on a wide variety of interesting and engaging issues.
This role also provides an opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment, where you will be well supported and contribute to the overall work of the Team and the strategic direction of Catholic Education Western Australia.
Your role would include:
- Providing accurate and timely information to clients and stakeholders
- Conciliating, mediating and/or investigating employment related disputes and complaints
- Negotiating on behalf of Catholic Education, utilising appropriate resolution strategies
- Coordinating and/or supporting the development of policy/guidelines and other matters relating to employment or community relations
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, both professional and within the employment and community relations function.
Your Background
- Have knowledge of employment relations issues and the ability to apply that knowledge to a school context
- Have high level written and oral communication skills including presentation and report writing skills
- Have demonstrated ability to positively contribute to and work as part of a team
- Preferably have tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations or a related field.
